 BlackBeats.FM: Hallo Al Azif. Willkommen zum Interview mit Deutschlands größter Webradiostation im BlackMusic-Bereich, BlackBeats.FM. Wie geht es dir?Al Azif: Mir geht es gut. Ich arbeite hart und ich liebe es. BlackBeats.FM: Ist dies dein erstes Interview in Deutschland? Was hälst du davon? Al Azif: Ja, es ist wirklich mein erstes Interview in Deutschland. Ich wurde schon auf deutschen Internetseiten supportet, aber ich habe noch nie ein Interview gemacht. Wer sollte der Erste sein, wenn nicht BlackBeats.FM? BlackBeats.FM: Dein bürgerlicher Name lautet Jiar Garmiana, ist das richtig? Wie kamst du zu dem Namen "Al Azif und was bedeutet dieser Name? Al Azif: Ich hatte damals auf der HighSchool ein Horrorbuch gelesen. Es hieß "Necronomicon" und ich war fasziniert davon. Dort war die Rolle des Charakters mit dem Namen Al Azif, der dieses Buch vermutlich geschrieben hat. Ich fand er klang sehr episch, deshalb begann ich mich selbst so zu nennen. Ich schrieb Reime und unterzeichnete sie mit diesem Namen. Später erfuhr ich das Al Azif nicht der Name des Charakters war, sondern der Original-Titel des Buches. Nachdem ich diesen Namen eine Zeit lang benutzte fand ich heraus, dass der Name im Arabischen etwa eine Bedeutung von "Derjenige der mit der Musik spielt" hat. Dann wollte ich ihn erst Recht behalten und machte ihn zu meinen offiziellen Künstlernamen. Mein richtiger Name ist Jiar Garmiani, aber alle nennen mich Al. BlackBeats.FM: Du bist seit 10 Jahren ein DJ und Produzent und lebst in Schweden. Wie würdest du die BlackMusic-Szene in deinem Land beschreiben? Al Azif: Ich denke die schwedische BlackMusic-Szene ist sehr gut im Augenblick und wir haben eine Menge talentierter Menschen hier. Das Ganze begann, als die Menschen bemerkten, dass es kein Unternehmen gab, dass uns die Services bieten konnte, die wir benötigten. Wir mussten also solch ein Unternehmen gründen. Mittlerweile haben wir Radiostationen, Plattenfirmen, Investmentgesellschaften, Eventunternehmen, Promotionagenturen etc. , die gerade ihre Spezialisierungen in dem Bereich Black Music haben. Die Menschen nahmen alles selbst in die Hand. Während dieser Zeit wuchs die Musikszene in Schweden und die Qualität der Musik verbesserte sich sogar auch. Schweden war schon immer eines der Hauptländer wenn es um Popmusik geht, doch jetzt haben wir auch BlackMusic-Künstler die weltweit bekannt sind und werden. Adam Tensta, Crossfire, Lazee, Million Stylez, Promoe & Looptroop Rockers und viele mehr. Die alle sind gute Beispiele dafür. Und wir haben einen Bund von neuen Menschen, die bereit sind ihren Weg zu machen. BlackBeats.FM: Im Februar 2009 hast du den Millencolin Musik Preis gewonnen. Warst du überrascht? Erzähl uns doch einmal was dieser Preis für dich bedeutet? Al Azif: Ja ich war etwas überrascht, es war echt klasse diesen Preis zu gewinnen. Für seine Arbeit anerkannt zu werden und zu sehen wie Menschen meine Arbeit schätzen, es ist eine wundervolle Sache. Es bedeutet mir sehr viel. BlackBeats.FM: Deine Musikrichtung ist RnB, Dancehall, HipHop und House: Das passt sehr gut zu BlackBeats.FM. Hast du schon einmal von uns gehört und was hälst du von Internetradios? Al Azif: Ich verstehe nicht alles auf der Seite, da es auf deutsch geschrieben ist, aber es scheint, dass ihr mehr als Musik bietet. Ich finde eure Community echt cool. Ein Platz für Musikfans, wo sie abhängen können. Jede Station, die meine Musik spielt erhält meinen vollen Support. Und wenn ihr alle meine Musik spielt, dann habt ihr einen echt guten Geschmack. BlackBeats.FM: Was hast du für die Zukunft geplant? Einige neue Projekte mit Musikern oder zum Beispiel einen Auftritt hier in Deutschland? Al Azif: Ich warte auf den Sommer und auf die ganzen anstehenden Shows. Ich werde auch ein neues Studio in diesem Sommer eröffnen. Ich kann es schon gar nicht mehr abwarten es zu betreten und heiße Musik zu machen. Ich hab bisher nichts geplant in Deutschland zu tun. Aber ich würde sehr gerne dort hinfahren und die Clubs rocken. Welcome to the interview with Germanys biggest Webradiostation in the BlackMusic-Gerne, BlackBeats. FM. How are you? Al Azif: Im great man! Working hard and I..m loving it BlackBeats.FM: Is this your first interview in Germany? How do you feel about this? Al Azif: Yeah this is actually my first interview in Germany, ive been featured on German sites before but never done any interviews. Who better than Blackbeats.FM to be the first one out right?  BlackBeats.FM: Your real name is Jiar Garmiani, is this right? How do you hit on the name Al Azif and what does this name means? Al Azif: I read a horror-book back in high-school called "Necronomicon" and i was fascinated by the stories in it. There was this piece about a character called Al Azif that supposedly wrote the book in 700 BC. I thought the name Al Azif sounded real epic so i started to call myself that and playing around with it, i was rhyming back then so i used it in my verses. Later on i found out that Al Azif was not the name of the character, but the original title of the book. After playing around with the name for a while i found out that Al Azif means something like "the one that plays the music" in arabic so i decided to keep it and make it my official stage-name, i still think its the shit to this day. My real name is Jiar Garmiani but most people call me Al. BlackBeats.FM: You are a DJ and producer for 10 years and lives in Sweden. How would you describe the BlackMusic-Scene in your country? Al Azif: I think the Swedish urban scene is real nice right now and we have a lot of talented people here. The whole thing really took off when people started to realize that if there isnt a company that can provide us with the services we need,maybe we should start a company that does that. Now we have radiostations, recordlabels, management companies, event companies, PR-companies etc that are specialized in urban music and run by urban people. People took matters in their own hands and now we run shit ourselves and dont necessarily have to depend on old dudes in suits. And the best part is, during the time we got better at the business part, the quality of the music improved too. Sweden has always been one of the leading countries in the world when it comes to pop music, but now we have urban artists and producers that could (some of them already have and some will) make a lot of noise on worldwide level. Adam Tensta, Crossfire, Lazee, Million Stylez, Promoe & Looptroop Rockers etc are all great examples of that. AND we got a bunch of new people ready to follow their lead. BlackBeats.FM: In February 2009 you have won the Millencolin Music Prize. Were you surprised and tell us what this prize means to you? Al Azif: Yeah i was a little surprised, but wining the MMP was great man. To get recognized for your work and seeing how people appreciate what you do is a beautiful thing. It means a lot. BlackBeats.FM: Your Music-Genre is RnB, Dancehall, HipHop and House: That goes perfectly with BlackBeats. FM. Have you ever heard about BlackBeats. FM and what do you think about our Webradio? Al Azif: I dont understand everything on the website because its in German, but you seem to offer more than music with the community which in my opinion is cool, a place for urban heads to hang out. Fo real, any station that play urban music got my support, and IF yall play my songs you have great taste BlackBeats.FM: What have you planned for the future? Any new projects with singers or for example a gig in another country like Germany? Al Azif: Im looking forward to the summer and all the upcoming shows, im also setting up a new studio this summer and i cant wait to get in there and make some fire music. I havent played in Germany yet but id love to come there and rock the clubs, promoters in Germany holla at me! BlackBeats.FM: Thank you very much for your time you gave us. We wish you all the best.
