 BlackBeats.FM: Hallo A.K.-S.W.I.F.T. Willkommen zum Interview mit BlackBeats.FM, eines der größten Internetradios im Black Music Bereich. Wie geht es dir?A.K.-S.W.I.F.T.: Mir geht es gut. Ich versuche mich in Form zu behalten und das Leben zu genießen. Ich bin momentan dabei mein Label “Thugknightz Entertainment” mehr in die Öffentlichkeit zu bringen. Mein neues Album wird im Sommer 2010 erscheinen. Dort werde ich viele Künstler vorstellen mit denen ich produziere. BlackBeats.FM: Du hast deine Karriere mit dem Breakdance im Jahr 1983 gestartet. Erzähl uns doch bitte wieso du dich gerade für das Tanzen entschieden hast und wie diese Zeit für dich war. A.K.-S.W.I.F.T.: Ich habe eigentlich schon in den 70er Jahren damit begonnen als ich 7 Jahre alt war. Meine Mutter war eine sehr gute Tänzerin und wollte immer, dass ich mit ihr auf Partys tanz. Zu der Zeit habe ich bereits damit begonnen die Moves von bekannten Künstlern im Fernsehen abzugucken und nachzuahmen, z.B. The Jackson 5, The Spinners, Rerun von "Whats Happening" und viele mehr. Die Sache mit dem Breakdancen war einfach Schicksal. Ich beherrsche den Heilcopter, Turtle, Backspin, Footwork, Poppin und Lockin. BlackBeats.FM: Im Jahr 1994 bist du im Musikgeschäft mit dem Dancefloorakt "Maggic Affair" erschienen. Der Song hieß "Omen III" und wurde mit großem Erfolg gekrönt. In Deutschland habt ihr sogar den 1. Platz der Charts erreicht. Anschließend habt ihr durch ganz Europa getourt. Berichte uns doch bitte über diese alte Zeit. A.K.-S.W.I.F.T.: Es war eine sehr hektische Zeit. Der Erfolg kam so plötzlich und führte uns monatelang in jedes Land von Europa. Wir führten Interviews und traten im Fernsehen auf. Ich hatte eine sehr gute Zeit. Durch das Reisen innerhalb Europas und das Performen hat man sehr viele Menschen aus verschiedenen Ländern gesehen, die sich an einem Platz trafen um mit uns zu feiern. BlackBeats.FM: Du hast mit so vielen Künstlern zusammengearbeitet. Welche Zusammenarbeit fandest du persönlich am besten? A.K.-S.W.I.F.T.: Ich denke der Song "The Game" mit Will Williams ist sehr gut. Wir haben auch ein Song mit dem Namen "Evolution of a mindflow" im Jahr 1993 herausgebracht. Wir haben einige Jahre zusammengearbeitet und Auftritte gehabt. An zweiter Stelle kommt für mich "It´s on" mit Mazaya. BlackBeats.FM: Wohltätigkeitsveranstaltungen haben in deinem Musikleben auch eine große Rolle gespielt. An welchen Veranstaltungen hast du teilgenommen und weshalb hast du dich dafür entschieden? A.K.-S.W.I.F.T.: 1997 habe ich bei einer großen Basketball Challenge mit dem Namen "Hand-in-Hand" teilgenommen. Ich bin ebenso einem Krebsforschungsinstitut für Kinder beigetreten. Im Jahr 2004 habe ich mich an dem Projekt "SOS Asien-Kinderdorf" beteiligt. Es gibt so einige Wohltätigkeitsorganisationen, an denen ich noch sicherlich teilnehmen werde. BlackBeats.FM: Welche Beziehung hast du zu Deutschland? A.K.-S.W.I.F.T.: Mein Vater war Soldat in Frankfurt und ich in Friedberg. In Deutschland habe ich meine Erfolge erzielt und lebe mit meinen Kindern hier. BlackBeats.FM: Was tust du momentan? Ist vielleicht ein neues Album oder ein neuer Song für die Zukunft geplant? A.K.-S.W.I.F.T.: Ich möchte mein neues Album im Sommer 2010 veröffentlichen. Zudem möchte ich meine Künstler "Los Monteros", welche in spanisch, englisch und deutsch rappen vorstellen. Ich arbeite auch wieder mit "Magic Affair" an einem neuen Album. Es wird sogar mit der damaligen Sängerin Franca Morgano aufgenommen. Ich koproduziere "Omen III" mit dem Produzenten Bernd Waldstadt. Außerdem nehme ich an vier Songs von "The E.R.R. Project" teil. Ich filme momentan mit Harvey Dent ein neues Musikvideo. Ich habe sogar selbsttändig etwas produziert für unabhängige Künstler. Die Veröffentlichung findet auch diese Jahr statt. Wie ihr seht bin ich sehr beschäftigt. BlackBeats.FM: Was hälst du von "Legends & Diamonds"? A.K.-S.W.I.F.T.: Ich liebe es. Es ist eine sehr gute Idee. So etwas wurde in Europa bisher noch nie gemacht. Alle bekannten Größen von damals zusammenzurufen, das ist sehr harte Arbeit. Alle wollen aus diesem Projekt das beste rausholen und großen Erfolg damit haben, daher geben sie ihr bestes. Ich fühle mich geehrt daran teilnehmen zu dürfen. Vor allem mit Künstlern, die ich so lange kenne und mit denen ich schon immer mal zusammenarbeiten wollte. Das ist eine perfekte Zusammenstellung und ich bin mir sicher es wird ein Hit. A.K.-S.W.I.F.T.: I’m fine, trying to stay in shape and enjoy life, plus I’m in the finishing stages of my own online label called “Thugknightz Entertainment” where I will release my album summer 2010, and introduce a couple of artists I’m producing. BlackBeats.FM: You have started your career with Breakdance in 1983. Tell us how you have decided to dance and how that time was? A.K.-S.W.I.F.T.: Actually it started in the 70’s, I was about 7 years old, my mother was a very good dancer and always wanted me to dance with her when we had parties, that’s when I started practicing moves from entertainers I seen on t.v. like The Jackson Five, The Spinners, Rerun from “Whats Happening”, and many more, so it was destiny that I was to become a breakdancer, as a matter of fact, I still can do the Helicopter, Turtle, Backspin, Footwork, Poppin, and Lockin. BlackBeats.FM: In 1994 you have appeared in the musikbusiness with the danceflooract "Magic Affair". The song “Omen III” was crowned with success and get in the Germany the No. 1. Also you have toured around in Europe. Tell us something about that time. A.K.-S.W.I.F.T.: That was a fast paced time, the success came very quick, which had us in every land in Europe on a monthly basis, be it interviews, t.v, or shows, I had a good time travelling and performing, seeing people from different lands in one place enjoying themselves. BlackBeats.FM: You have worked with so many artists together. Which collaboration was the best one for you? A.K.-S.W.I.F.T.: I would say “In the game” with Will Williams, the song is tight and on point, plus Will Williams and I have released a song called “Evolution of a mindflow” in 1993, and we’ve worked and toured years together “It’s on” with Mazaya is a close second. BlackBeats.FM: Charity events have also played a big role in your musiclife. On which events have you been participated and why have you do that? A.K.-S.W.I.F.T.: I participated in Hand-in-Hand’s Big Basketball Challenge in 1997 proceeds went to a cancer research fund for children, 2004 with Tiger and Dragon Event’s SOS Asien-Kinderdorf proceeds went to the homeless children in Asia for example, there’s a couple of Charities and events I’m looking at right now. BlackBeats.FM: Which association do you have to germany? A.K.-S.W.I.F.T.: My father was a soldier here in Frankfurt, I was a soldier here in Friedberg, I obtained success in music here, me and my children are here, that’s about it. BlackBeats.FM: What are you doing at this moment? Are there any new albums or songs which will be going to release in the future? A.K.-S.W.I.F.T.: I’m going to finally release my album summer 2010, I’m also going to introduce my artists “Los Monteros” they rap in Spanish, English, and German, I’m working again with Magic Affair on a new album as well, it will be with original singer Franca Morgano, and I’m co-producing Magic Affair with “Omen 3” producer Bernd Waldstadt, I also done four features in Euro Raps E.R.R. project, and MCBEE featuring me and Harvey Dent called “G’s up” we’re currently filming the music video, I also have done some freelance production for independent artists that will also be released this year, I gotta stay busy, BlackBeats.FM: What do you think about Legends & Diamonds? A.K.-S.W.I.F.T.: I love it, it’s a very good idea, it’s something that hasn’t been done in Europe, getting all the pioneers of Europe’s rap scene together on original beats was a hard job but everyone succeeded in making it happen, I felt honored to be on it, especially with artists I’ve known for so long and always wanted to work with, this compilation WILL be a hit.
