Drake hat bereits angekündigt, dass er in Zusammenarbeit mit Noah 40 Shebib als Exevutice Producer ein neues Aaliyah-Album veröffentlichen will. Timbaland und Missy Elliott werden darauf nicht vertreten sein.

Dies verkündete Mona Scott-Young, die Managerin von Missy, gegenüber Billboard.com: "Although Missy and Timbaland always strive to keep the memory of their close friend alive, we have not been contacted about the project nor are there any plans at this time to participate. We've seen the reports surfacing that they have been confirmed to participate but that is not the case. Both Missy and Timbaland are very sensitive to the loss still being felt by the family so we wanted to clear up any misinformation being circulated."

Jomo Hankerson, der bei Aaliyahs damaligen Label Blackground Records arbeitet, verkündete kurz vorher, dass Timbaland und Missy Elliott zu 100 Prozent in das Projekt involviert wären. Missy Elliotts Meinung dazu, gab es bei Twitter: Sie wisse nicht einmal etwas von diesem Album...
